Program Description

Natasha’s Nurturing Nest, LLC is a Florida based dual-service company that offers childcare and swimming lessons to children up to 12 years old that live in Sarasota and Manatee County. Since May 2020, we are a full in-home service company and have taught dozens of children how to stay safe in, around, and near water, including teaching the four fundamentals of swimming—proper breath exchange, flutter kicks, freestyle/front strokes, and backstrokes.

Several families have expressed interest in our swimming program, but many do not have access to a residential or community pool; a prerequisite to our Learn to Swim program. Not only does the lack of pool access stop us from reaching and teaching many children, but dozens do not have the financial resources or land to install a pool, or the time and knowledge needed to maintain it.

After offering private lessons for three years, and with the recommendation from Sarasota’s Honorable Judge Charles E Williams, Natasha’s Nurturing Nest was asked to partner with the Florida Swimming Pool Association Manasota Chapter (FSPA) to offer free swimming lessons to children in our local community that otherwise could not afford them as part of the Every Child a Swimmer (ECAS) initiative. Natasha’s Nurturing Nest, in conjunction with FSPA and ECAS would like to provide a scholarship to families who are in financial need of assistance for swimming lessons.

Swim Lesson Program Qualifications

  • Must be ages 3 to 12 years old.
  • Swimmer must be comfortable putting face on top or in the water independently.
  • Swimmer must be able to follow directions well.
  • Swimmer must be dressed in proper swim attire prior to each lesson.

Program Details

  • Program Dates

    Saturday’s ONLY

  • Monthly Swimming Dates
    May- 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th
    June- 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
    July- 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th

  • Weekly Swimming Sessions (30 minutes each)
    Session I          9a-9:30a
    Session II         9:45a-10:15a
    Session III        10:30a-11a

  • Must wear proper swim attire to each lesson/session
    One piece swimsuit or swim trunks (short sleeve swim top permissible). Swimsuits may be available upon request prior to start date.

  • Equipment provided during lessons, but may bring your own.

  • Program Fees
    Enrollment Fee: $25 per family (see Program Guidelines for details)
    13- 30 minute Private Lessons: $520 scholarship per child
    13- 30 minute Semi-Private or Group up to 1:3 ratio Lessons: $390 scholarship per child
